Nick and Katie were married at the Columbia Club just a few short weeks ago. The day was filled with a tons of emotion, laughter and smiles. Our bride wore the most gorgeous flowing gown with an adorable hair accessory that I couldn't get enough photos of! Nick and his groomsmen, and the lovely grooms-woman, all wore pin stripes with pink ties. Katie had all of the details in line for a perfect afternoon wedding.

I have to tell you my favorite part of the wedding. I had been over on Nick's side as the ceremony was taking place, getting some nice photos of Katie's expressions, and then I made my way over to Katie's side to capture Nick. As I made my way down that outside isle, I heard a guest lean over and say, "Nick is going to cry," followed by, "He loves her so much." I smiled behind my camera because they really are so much in love and I just wanted to show that emotion through their photos. Sure enough, as Nick turned to Katie, a couple of tears rolled down Nick's face, but this wasn't my favorite part of the day. As I started snapping photos, Katie took her hand to Nick's face, and as he smiled through the tears, she wiped them away. This was my favorite part of the entire day and quite possibly one of my favorite moments of any of my weddings.

Katie, I still remember you walking up to chat with me at that bridal show way back in September. I loved your smile, how genuine you were, and you were so excited to talk about your wedding. As we had exchanged emails throughout the following months, I grew more and more excited to finally meet this Nick of yours, and photograph the wedding! I agree with that guest at your wedding, Nick does love you so much, and it's evident in the way he makes you smile. Nick and Katie, you truly were an awesome couple to work alongside on your wedding day. You are both truly beautiful inside and out and I wish you all the happiness in the world. Thank you for some beautiful moments to photograph and enjoy your photos!

brad & kelly: married.

It was supposed to snow. The day we met for their engagement session it was freezing outside, but no snow. Brad's ears were even bright red from the cold, and still no snow. So we went ahead with the session and continued photographing and laughing and talking about the wedding that was to come. I remember getting into my car that day and thinking that this couple had truly something special and it made me that much more excited to see them again. Well, a week or so later, we got a good sized snow, so I made the call and we headed back out for engagement session round two: operation snowfall. This was the first time I've ever done two sessions for engagement photos, but it was completely worth it. Two sessions for two completely amazing people. We never really needed snow to get awesome photos, but just to be able to spend a few more minutes getting to know these two made it all worth it.

Fast forward to wedding day: We arrived with full anticipation that the dress would be spectacular, the shoes to die for, and an eagerly happy couple ready to make their promises to each other and the world. It was raining. Not just a few sprinkles that could go unoticed, but a nice dumping of rain with thunder and all the dark clouds. I had to laugh almost out loud while Cyli and I were waiting for Brad and the guys for some photos. Brad's mom Cheryl heard a noise in the sanctuary, and thought but hoped it wasn't rain. Doug, Brad's best man, assured Cheryl that it was only the air conditioner she was hearing. Until that unmistakable sound of thunder came roaring through and Cheryl went over to check the window, and sure enough it was pouring outside.

So a little rain never hurt anyone right? This was every indication of the love that poured down that day. And we were right. The dress was spectacular, the shoes were to die for, and Brad and Kelly were especially happy to be sharing their promises to each other in front of their friends and family. They met in their church, they were engaged in their church, and they brought everything full circle by saying I do, in their church. When she came down the isle with her dad, love was pouring in and all around in that room.

Brad and Kelly, this is almost tough to write because I know that God was first and foremost in your relationship, your ceremony, and He'll be first and foremost in your marriage. Your relationship with Him shines through both of you, and even I have been in awe of that true love you share with each other. Continue to embrace those rainy days and continue making each other happy! Thank you for having Cyli and I at your wedding and letting us into your lives. Your families are awesome...Kelly, your 'older sister' doesn't look a day over 30! We loved every minute of the day and we wish you all the best! I hope we don't have too many blackmail dancing photos, but they were hysterical and some of our favorite parts of the day! I hope you love your photos!
