These two are old pro's on my blog! I've been blessed to be able to say I have photographed these two for awhile now, and I'm more and more happy with our photos as the years go by. Look at those big blue eyes on little Issac! Have you ever seen such blue eyes! This is little Issac's second appearance on my blog, and his big brother DJ is an old pro on here. His mommy and I are good friends, and I always have a hilarious time trying to get photos of her boys together! I think we laugh more than anything, but we always manage to grab a couple great shots of them. I know you've been so excited to see these Casssi, I hope you love them! Cassi and I went to high school together, and she hasn't changed a bit! She's still incredibly sweet, with the prettiest curls that I'm jealous of! She married her handsome Jasen a few years ago and they just wanted to document this time in their lives with some pictures of the two of them, which I think is always a great excuse for photos! I love that they were easy in front of the camera, and you just wanted to hug them for being in so much in love still! Cassi, it was fun getting to see you again after a few too many years! Meet Zach and Jessica. I seriously just love these two to pieces! I could likely have photographed them the entire day and night, because they just have so much fun together and they make you want to be around them. Our time together was much too short, but the light was going down faster than I had wanted it to. Lucky for me, I'll get to see them again when it snows! Yes, I'm absolutely PRAYING for a great big snow so we can get these two back out again, with snow boots, hats, gloves and scarves, and a big blanky to wrap them up in! It will be fabulous as always. I can't wait!

Jake and Brittany were married in Folly Beach, South Carolina. There was an unvinvited guest that was present, that came in the form of WIND! Actually, there were some hurricane storms coming up from the south, and Jake and Brittany had to make the descision to switch around the time of their ceremony because of it! It was crazy to say the least! At least we were able to have their beautiful ceremony out on the beach, with their closest friends and family there to see it all. I think we may have come close to being blown away, but at least we made it through!

Brittany, you are a beautiful girl, a stunning bride and I thank you for having me and Cyli there to document your day. I loved your friends and your families too and hope to see some of you again one of these days! Thanks for being patient with me...October is my busiest month of the entire year, and I know it has been like waiting for Christmas for you! I have such love for Allison and was so excited to see her facebook status change from "in a relationship", to "engaged". I've known her for a few years and was so excited that we were able to make things work for her wedding, and grab a few quick engagement photos along the way. We also had to include a couple photos with her two new little additions to the family. Bobby's girls are two of the cutest little girls in the world, and I know how incredibly lucky they are to have Allison in their family now.

Because we photographed this session literally two weeks before their wedding, you'll see these two lovebirds again so very soon...next time though, they will be in perfect bridal attire. I am so thankful we were able to make this happen on the spur of the moment and get some fun shots of all four of them together. Allison and Bobby, thanks for my first ride in a firetruck and thanks for being entirely too welcoming to me and Cyli! We love West Virginia, what can I say! You guys are amazing! I love it when everything comes together just perfectly for a wedding. Kyle and Tristan were married on such a wonderful fall day, not too cold, not too hot. The sanctuary at the church where they said their vows was huge and the light that poured through the windows made for perfect lighting. Everything truly was perfect as they exchanged rings, shared a kiss and made their way in perfect style to their reception that was filled with fabulous dancing. I had such a great time at their reception that I almost forgot we were there to photograph and document their day. Then again, Tristan and Kyle and their families and friends just had a way of making you feel like part of the fun. For that reason, I'm blessed to have been there, getting all the fun and perfect moments on my camera for them.

I've had such a great time getting to know you all over the past couple of years. I say this, because I photographed Tristan's sister's wedding a couple of years ago. One of you is going to have to have a baby or something soon so we can continue to see each other! I just love you girls to pieces!!! Oh Kristina. Every time I see you I swear you just become more and more gorgeous! I had such a fun time photographing and spending time with this little cutie and her grandma who wanted to document her 6th birthday. I think that's a perfectly great excuse to fill the frames at home with tons of cute photos of this little sassy lady. And Sassy she is...with a capital S! She's fantastic with her many expressions and she kept me on my toes while doing this photo session. Thanks to her grandma for setting this little special time up for me to document her sixth year of life. St. Paul, Minnesota. I'm fairly certain your city has been enriched simply by holding the wedding of Lindsey and Alex among your beauty. Truly, I could write a book about the two of them. How they planned this wedding from a few hundred miles away...or how they fell in love at college...something about a "duck face"?! I could tell you that Alex does more expressions than I could even begin to capture them all, or that Lindsey stands like a ballerina, which by the way is the CUTEST thing ever! I could gush over their families. I could ooh and ahh over their fantastic personal touches and decor at the reception. Yes, that would be just too easy. Like I said, I could write a book, or we could just all head straight for the photos and read between the lines within.

If you look close enough, you'll see just how special the relationship between Alex and Lindsey is. You will begin to count Alex's numerous facial hilarity's! I'm not sure that's even a word, but it probably doesn't even begin to do them justice as you'll see! You'll notice the beauty and grace within Lindsey and you'll start to count the many ways they fill in between each others lines.

Mark and Stacy were married in the most adorable, little, white church on a Thursday evening a few weeks ago. It was such a simple, quaint but absolutely perfect wedding that was shared between close friends and family. Sometimes these are the best weddings because they are so small, you get to throw out all the rules of a big wedding, and you really get to focus on the vows and the marriage. I love that Stacy wore a simple, but elegant dress that was perfect for her and so beautiful. The expressions on Mark's face as she walked down the isle were priceless...possibly because he may have come close to passing out! But none the less, you could just sense the love in the room as these two shared their vows and were married by Mark's brother.

Stacy and Mark! Thanks again for showing me such a pretty, little wedding between two people so much in love! I'm really excited about this year's fall family photo special! For the FIRST TIME EVER, I'm offering a pretty little album to accompany your gorgeous fall photos! This has definitely been my year for out of state weddings, AND engagements! I was thrilled to receive the call back in the winter about heading up to Minnesota to photograph Lindsey and Alex on their special day. When I finally arrived in Minnesota the week of the wedding, I was on pins and needles just waiting to actually see them in person! So I probably acted like a kid in a candy store for a few minutes, but really, these two are just so cute together, and they just draw you in. Before you know it, you're riding along to run wedding errands, listening to conversations about placecards and feeling more like a "guest" of honor, than the honorary photographer. It's totally who Alex and Lindsey are. A true testament to their character and I was thankful to be in their presence, with them for the few short days I got to tote my camera along to be present at their wedding, feeling like old friends.

As you'll notice in these photos, they crack each other up! It was almost HARD photographing them because I was in tears half the time too! Thank you both for making me laugh entirely too much, for showing me your campus, and for treating me to iced coffee. Little gestures that went a long way to make me feel so welcome in your hometown. I have been really excited to share these photos with you all because I have known Tracy for what seems like...oh, probably more than half of my life! She is practically family and getting to share in this special time in her life has blessed me more than she knows. To say Tracy deserved the best wedding, is an understatement. To say she got the best man--or should I say, the best groom...well, she totally did. She is incredibly giving and helpful, always doing for others and making everyone else smile. When she told me she was engaged and I saw the ring on her finger, I knew she was incredibly happy and she was truly smiling for herself. I know everyone else saw this too!

When I got to meet Steve for the first time in Kentucky for their engagement photos, it was like I got to meet the reason for the smile on her face. Steve is the perfect match for Tracy. They totally compliment each other and he makes her so happy. So much so that we can all see it! I love that Steve makes Tracy laugh like they were in 7th grade. Seeing them together kinda gives you goosebumps and makes you feel all warm inside! And it's beyond adorable that Steve listens so careful to what Tracy has to say. He gets her. She gets him, and that's all they need for a lifetime of happiness.

...and incredibly soon to be married! Mark is the brother of a dear friend of mine whom I've known since my elementary days at Mooresville Christian School. I've photographed her family so many times already, and this time, I'm getting to photograph her brother, and his adorably, pretty fiance Stacy! The afternoon we met for these photos, we had some big gray clouds rolling through, and after just a handful of photos, we got some sprinkles...followed by a pretty good rain! Rain on the wedding day is supposed to be good luck, right? How about rain on the engagement photo session day?! I'm totally going with even MORE luck for the marriage! Why not! They were complete great sports about it, and we still managed to grab a couple more cute photos as the rain came down.

I was so happy to finally get to meet little Lily and see her mom and dad again! Last time I saw TJ and Keith, it was winter, and Lily had not quite made her appearance. This time, we got together on an incredibly hot summer morning with the rest of the family for some simple, quick family photos. I can't tell you enough, what a sweet, pretty little baby girl Lily is! Her little lips are gorgeous, her big eyes are stunning! She's a bundle of cuteness all around! I also can't say enough, that I think more people should do family photos and include the grandparents, even the aunts and uncles too! I think it would be super cute if I had photos like these looking back from when I was a kid.

I still can't say enough wonderful things about Tim and Jenn! I've truly been blessed to have had the chance to get to know these two and their families along this journey. Tim and Jenn have such an amazing love for life and each other that is so evident in how they treat each other. Tim looks at Jenn like she's the only one in the room. Jenn lights up like she's on fire when he's around. And you couldn't wipe the smile from her face if you tried! You can't help but feel the love they have for each other. It's infectious and I was incredibly happy to get to be a small part of it all.

I'm so excited to share their love story as I saw it on their wedding day. Jenn and Tim, thank you both so much for allowing me to come along for your wedding day. I had been anticipating the wedding of Jason and Carol for quite some time, and when their day finally arrived, we were all crossing our fingers that the rain would hold off and the heat wouldn't be too extreme. My assistant Suni and I arrived in Bloomington (IN.) to meet Carol where she would be getting ready in a beautiful downtown loft. She was perfectly happy with a smile you couldn't wipe off her face! Her dress was incredible, her hair looked perfect, and every detail in place as we left for the ceremony at the property and gardens of T.C. Steele in Nashville, IN.

The ceremony was really sweet and I was so happy to be a part of this day for Carol and Jason. The rain did hold off, and it wasn't a scorcher after all! The two were married in front of all their closest friends and family in such a pretty garden area, and you could feel only love in the air! The reception followed at Alumni Hall on the campus of Indiana University with dinner and plenty of dancing.

Jason, Carol, thank you both for including me and my assistant in your day! We loved your families and your friends made us all feel so welcome! I wish you both all the happiness together in the world! Carol, you were truly a breathtaking and beautiful bride and you were both so incredibly fun to photograph! I have been dying to introduce you all to Brittany and Jake (and I know she's been dying to see these photos too!). I received this phone call months ago from the most sweetest girl, who happened to have the most adorable southern accent. Really, she was like sugar, and just sweet as pie! After exchanging a ton of emails and a handful of phone calls, it was settled, and Brittany and Jake had a photographer for their wedding! When I finally got to meet her at Brittany's cousin Sarah's wedding, my thoughts were confirmed. Brittany was just the sweetest little thing, with her little southern accent, and she was just gorgeous! I was thrilled to finally put faces to the names and so excited she had Jake their with her so we could all meet.

These engagement photos have been planned right down to the last detail. I love that Brittany is just one of those girls who absolutely knows her vision for the wedding. She totally knew how she wanted her engagement photos to look, and so she arranged for us to have an amazing backdrop, complete with a pair of horses. I made the trek down to Louisville, Kentucky and she definitely didn't disappoint! I was so excited when I saw the horses, even more excited when I pointed the camera in their direction and they just made my job so easy. They're so in love, and just so sweet with each other. Like that sugar I was telling you about earlier! I just love them together!

Jake and Brittany! I am so thrilled to finally show you these photos! I know you have been patiently waiting...probably checking every hour of every day in fact! Thank you both for being way too much fun and making me love what I do even more! I really didn't even mind those big, scary ant hills and the thousands of ants that were in them...just an afterthought after I went through our film! HA! It’s like they were made for each other. Their hands fit together. They smile the same. He gets her. She gets him. They were made for each other. Somewhere in their story love was found and so I’m certain, one day, if not already, they’ll finish each other’s sentences. They will know what the other is thinking. They just won’t function without the other. They’re made for each other, and I couldn’t be happier to come along as their photographer to document the beginning of their lives together.

Clint and Sarah, I’m truly so happy to have been a part of your day! I knew from the second I met you both that I would have a blast with you and your friends. You all didn’t disappoint! Apparently, it’s true what they say about that southern hospitality. Ok, so Kentucky isn’t that far south, but it’s further south than our Indianapolis, and I really felt like just one of the family. Like an old extended cousin or someone just there to enjoy the wedding with everyone! And your friends---oh my! Not even sure where to begin! You all are seriously some of my favorite people ever to photograph! Sarah, I’m so glad you married Clint, who happens to be friends with Derrick and Bethann! Many thanks Bethann for sending Sarah my way, and letting me in on yet another West Point grad’s wedding! I’m so starting a club or something and one of you all really needs to get married like every year so we can have our reunion! HA! I’ll even provide the honorary traditional “toast” that you all do in your plastic cups with that “clear” liquid!

Truly though, Sarah and Clint, I just adore you both to pieces! I hope you start finishing each other’s sentences if you don’t already. I hope you can sit comfortably without talking for hours upon hours knowing and believing you were made for each other. I wish you both so so so much happiness! It's true. Vito and Kaya have a new baby brother! I'm certain they're just the tiny-est bit jealous. After all, Vito and Kaya can't even talk about their true feelings about little Hayden! They just have to sit back, drool a bit, or perhaps allot, and accept the fact they now have to share their mom and dad with a little, absolutely adorable new baby brother.

If you're new to the blog, and you don't know who Vito and Kaya are, well where have ya'll been?! These two are like total celebrities on the blog! Unfortunately, the pair were not able to be with us on this day as we photographed the family portraits with little Hayden, but I'm fairly certain they'll make it to the next session, and many more after that!

So until that day, I'm super excited and happy to introduce you all to yet another of my most favorite families ever! Really, doesn't it just seem like yesterday Alicia that I was sitting with you and your mom and Danny at Starbucks? We were discussing the wedding plans. Who knew we would need to discuss your family photos that would consist of a little mini you and Danny? I totally love him and I'm keeping a close eye out for a "Funyun" onsie! Wouldn't that just be the berries! Yes, I went there! HA! Here's to a fabulous year filled with lots more drool, a little studmuffin named Hayden and his fantastic mommy and daddy who I just love! Hayden is quite possibly one of the cutest little guys around...so chubby...so happy...so chubby...so chubby...really though, just look at that face, don't you want to squeeze him! He's precious!

I can't say enough about Kyle and Tristan! I just adore the two of them to pieces and now we get to introduce their lovely little Boardwalk into the equation! Well, she's not really little, but she's such a doll baby and I probably could have spent the better part of our time just petting her! Boardwalk is a rescue greyhound, and honestly couldn't have found herself a better mom and dad than Kyle and Tristan. I truly believe that animals make the world go around and it takes a special person to take in a rescue animal. Kyle and Tristan, you two are amazing and I'm sure it hasn't always been the easiest with Boardwalk, but know you two are better people for taking her in and providing a safe place for her! I just love her and I know you do too. I can't wait to see you again and I'm excited for this wedding too! I personally think Boardwalk should make an appearance, you know, at least put on a big white bow and trot down the isle or something! Enjoy your photos!

I received an email yesterday that literally about made my entire year! I'm not naming any names, but you know who you are, and you're such a blessing to my life. Because of her, and her dear note, she has forced me to offer up one day of mini sessions to celebrate dad's everywhere! I wasn't planning any specials until the fall of this year so I could make it through wedding season without feeling overwhelmed! But, sometimes, you just have to admit your friends are right, and you have to offer up a special in the middle of the summer!

Specifics:

***ONE DAY ONLY mini's will take place Saturday, June 11th only.

***Sessions will be only 15 minutes in length, and will take place at Mooresville/Camby area locations only.

***Best 15 (possibly more!) images on CD mailed on Monday in time to print for Father's Day Sunday the 19th.

I could probably just go on and on and on about this entire family. Probably, secretly even, I wish my last name began with "L", or that I could just be the long lost sister who comes around when there's a really good party! And there are always really great parties, I mean really. With this family, I've been to all of the really big parties. I've been the lucky duck who has been around to photograph these guys at three weddings. And I've even more lucky that I've been able to follow two of these couples as they grow into families. So for today, and frankly from now on, I'm going to be the one at all the parties, wearing the honorary "L" on my shirt, in true Lavern and Shirley fashion. Perhaps it's for their last name. Perhaps it's just because I dearly love them to pieces. ALL of them! Even the cat...ok, especially the cat!

Thank you all for putting up with each other, and me too, for an afternoon of photos. Judy and Bob, thanks for including me with your families dearest moments. There are times as a photographer, you meet a family and they are blessed with such fantastic little kids that I could just scoop them up, squeeze them into my camera bag, and take them home with me! Justin and Melissa and their little Landyn, are no exception to my theory! Landyn is a true ball of energy! He's such a happy little guy and his smile is infectious. I hated that we had rain the morning of their session, but I loved that Landyn never even probably noticed! That made me not even care too! Our time was quick, but so worth these fun photos! I love the ones with the bubbles Melissa, and I love the ones with you and Justin each with Landyn. Your little guy is beyond amazing, but you already knew that now didn't you! steve & tracy: engaged.

I drove down to Louisville, Kentucky to meet with Tracy and Steve for their engagement photos. Of course, when we got there, we were met with a tremendous downpour than went on for a good hour! Now, I've known Tracy for years and years! She's practically related as she's so close to my sister and brother in laws family, and we've gone to church together for years too. But with over an hour to kill while we stood under a shelter while it rained, I got to know Steve a little bit too! We laughed, and laughed, and laughed! Steve is so very funny, and now I even feel like I've known him for years too!

And even though we had to deal with a little bit of rain and ended up not having much time to do the photos, I still ended up with so many shots that I just love! I think we ended up actually shooting for a half hour, and we ended up with so many fun shots all taken pretty quick, and in a small little area.

Tracy and Steve! I can't really even begin to tell you Tracy how incredibly excited I am that you've found the person you're going to grow old with. You know it just makes me scream! HA! Steve makes you laugh and your face lights up! It's contagious I'm telling you! You compliment each other adorably, and I know you'll make each other so happy! Thank you for taking that day off Steve to do these photos with us! Tracy couldn't look more beautiful, and in love too of course! See? It was worth it! It's my FAVORITE word. I say it ALL the time. I can't help it. I think it works for everything! It's my most favorite adjective! Best word ever created I think! Cute. And it happens to describe Tim and Jenn perfectly.

I had met Jenn a few months ago. She's a dear friend of my friend Danielle, and she helped us out with their family photos back in the fall. Jenn. Well, she is just cute. Well, quite frankly, she's gorgeous and she has eyelashes to die for! She's got a quiet spirit, but she totally makes me laugh, really loud! I loved her from that day, and then she told me she was engaged--well, that, and then she happened to have a pretty boulder weighing down her left hand that just so happened to be all shiny and whatnot!

When she talked about Tim, those eyelashes batted and her cheeks turned pink. This alone was just cute. I am a sucker for any good love story. She told me how they met. She told me about his dimples. She told us how much she loved him and how much her family loved him. How cute I thought!

I couldn't wait to meet Tim and when we all got together for these photos-- well, as you can imagine, the boy appeared, and oh my. He was CUTE! (Jenn-Tim--are you two totally laughing at me right now?!) And so it was true, dimples to die for. Super cute indeed!

The two of them together. Beyond cute. I'm not sure I can describe it or even do it justice! I just know that the two of them together, are so much cuter than her lashes alone, or his purty dimples. They love each other like no one is watching. It's the cutest, and I was thankful to be around them to get it all on film!

Jenn, darling, you are the BEST! You are so pretty with your long hair, and girl, really? The lashes, I'm just totally jealous I guess! And Tim, I'd give a right arm just to have one of those dimples. I love our time together and I'm excited for your wedding! It will totally be, yes, sorry to have to say, but it will be cute. Just like you two! Thanks for spending your time with me that day and thanks for being patient with the editing and all! Totally worth it right?! Some of my favorites are below! ***EDITED just now (Wednesday night!)...So my little poor blog has been a little on the sick side the past few days, with all sorts of log in problems, posting problems, and things just disappearing! Jerad and April are expecting another baby and I couldn't be happier for them! April is a fantastic photographer as well, and didn't do maternity photos with her first baby, so this was something she wanted to mark off her list of things to do with baby number two. I'm thrilled that we were able to make this happen for her and Jerad. These images couldn't make me smile more. And then there's the fact that April is just a very pretty lady, and all pregnant and glowy just adds to her beauty! With Jerad on her side, I'd say that this baby will be just as cute as they are!

Thanks again April for another fun and fabulous photo session. I'm happy to battle snakes, bees and ticks with you! It just adds to our histerical-ness! We're a fun bunch together aren't we?! What is better than celebrating your family and your little girls first birthday than with ice cream? You should remember seeing this fantastic family because they are lifers in the Bodell Photography club! Liz and Anthony are two of the best parents I could talk about and they just adore their little Vera to pieces! After spending just a few seconds in her presence, you just want to squeeze her cheeks she's so cute!

This is Ella and her mom and dad, Dave and the lovely Courtney! We had planned this session right down to the outfit colors and the bubbles and sucker and I think Courtney pulled it all together beautifully! From the second little Ella got out of their car, I could have scooped her up and put her in my camera bag! She's such a cute little thing, complete with her blonde curls, her huge smile, big blue eyes, and a voice that could just melt you! Cute doesn't even begin to cut it, she's darling!

I've been so lucky lately to meet and spend time with such great families and it's been amazing to share in their stories. Hands down though, my favorite moment lately has been with this family! I don't have kids of my own, but if I did, I hope I can be half the mom that Courtney is! We were ready to bust out a couple of her fun props that they brought along, and she pulled out a humongous, big colorful sucker. It was probably the size of Ella's face! She handed it to Dave to rip off the packaging and we all stood around waiting to throw it in our photos. Amost the exact second all the plastic was pulled off, it happened. Like slow motion. Like glass hitting the pavement. That huge sucker slipped right out of Dave's hands, slammed on the ground and shattered into a MILLION pieces! In a matter of like one second--Ella started to cry! Just as I almost started to lose it myself (not that I was going to cry, but I couldn't believe what just happened!), Courtney whipped around to her bag of tricks. Her "mom" bag. She busted out ANOTHER sucker. Yeah, so it wasn't as huge as the first, but Ella immediately stoped crying, and took a huge chunk right out of it! I was laughing so hard, my eyes were watering and I could barely snap a photo to save my life!

Courtney. Like I said, amazing mom you are! And Dave, thanks for making me laugh. I know you felt horrible, and literally it could have happened to any of us! You both are awesome parents for having that situation right under control! So awesome! Thanks for humoring me, and thanks for being a gorgeous, sweet family to photograph. You made my weekend to say the least! I just love these photos so much...your Ella is a sweetie pie! Oh...and I'm so coming in again for your AMAZING pizza...this time, I'll be sure to say hi!!!

Meet little Cate and her dad Paul! I was fortunate to spend a short time with them one morning having cupcakes at The Flying Cupcake and letting Cate run around and play. She is such a little spitfire and she of course made me laugh way too much! I love her sassy little personality and all of the faces she made for me! Paul, you're lucky to have Cate in your life! celebrate with me: it's my birthday week!

It's my birthday week and I of course will be taking every full advantage to celebrate it up...ALL week long!

Because I like to throw a party for my clients, I'm offering one last and final special before the big fall photos come in September. Taking place ONE WEEK ONLY, from Sunday the 15th, through Saturday the 21st at 3:00pm. At that time, I'll be relishing in the fact I'm another year older, and celebrating into the next day that is my birthday!

If you would like to get in on this special, here are the details:
***HALF price: only $150, instead of the standard $300 session fee (cash only please).
***HALF the time: each session maximum of 30 minutes, instead of the standard hour long session.

Oh Katie! I can't even begin to tell you how much I loved seeing you again and getting to see little Rose all grown up! She's totally the little spitting image of you...right down to the laugh--my FAVORITE part! How incredible to have a little mini you running around! She's gorgeous just like her momma, and her personality gives me a run for my money too. That girl totally makes my day just thinking about that laugh and her big personality!

Thanks for getting together with me. We need to catch up more often...hopefully not so long in between times. You girls are lucky to have each other. Chris and Adrienne were married in Xenia, Ohio at the Schindler Banquet Center. We were able to grab a few photos outdoors before we were hit by a lovely April shower! I don't think anything could get these two down though, as we began the beautiful ceremony and they danced the night away with their family and friends.

Now, I'm not one to cut a story short by NO means! But I have thrown more photos together for this special blog post than I normally do for weddings! ONLY because Chris and Adrienne are near and dear to my heart! It helps that I've known Chris for years, but I feel like I've known Adrienne for years too! So I'm going to let the photos speak for themselves for once! And I couldn't be more happy to see two people start their lives together! You two were meant for each other...made for each other even. I had a blast getting to spend time with you and meet your families and friends. Thank you both for including me in your day, and I truly wish you all the happiness and laughter in the world!

I still get just a little bit nervous each time I set out to do a photo session with anyone. It doesn't have to be a royal wedding. It can be a newborn baby or even one of my best friends or even my own nieces and nephews. I still have to take a couple deep breaths to calm my nerves. I think it keeps me grounded and makes me think about getting great shots. What I sometimes forget, is that sometimes my clients get nervous too. And sometimes, it's a little 4 year old who gets so nervous that he barely wants to come out of his shell.
If you know me at all, or if you follow my blog, I LIVE to photograph weddings. Probably more than that though, I LIVE to give everyone's personal picture frame a gorgeous family photo to fill it. Having never really had one REAL, true family photo growing up--mom, it doesn't count that you were "pregnant" with me--I constantly seek to fill the walls of peoples homes with a great family photo.

Sometimes, because little ones get nervous too, it makes my job rough and tough! I have to crawl around on the ground, laugh like a wild hyena, pretend I'm 2 (which I happen to be incredible at!) ask 3 million questions and try hard. And when you still don't get the reactions you are trying to so hard to get out of some kids, you try try again. And when you feel like you're never going to become best friends with some of those kids, you really have to pull out all the stops.

Enter, my friend the Starburst candy. Why on earth a little square piece of goodness wrapped up like a present on Christmas is so amazing for little kids, but it's like magic in a bottle. Or at least it's magic in my camera bag of tricks! It's good for me to remember sometimes that little kids get nervous too, and sometimes it just takes a ton of patience, a couple hyena laughs, and a good bunch of candy in your pocket to make all the difference to a little guy who isn't so sure about who you are, and why you're wanting him to hug his little sister!

So I'm telling you all this story because we all get nervous and I know sometimes it is stressful for my families to ever think I'll get a good shot of their family. But with a ton of patience and my sack o candy, nothing is impossible. Little AJ is probably one of my new favorite people I've ever photographed! He wasn't sure about me at first, but I'm just in love with his adorable smile that finally made an appearance! Once it came out, it didn't leave! And I just love the shots we got of him. I love the shots we got of him and little sister together too!

Tony, Katie dear, I have to tell you both I'm so glad we got together for pictures! Your family is darling, and I'm not kidding, I just love AJ! See, I told you I would get a great smile out of him if it were the last thing I did! I think he did amazing once we got past all of our nerves...and with the help of the Starburst of course! I love a good challenge, and now we should totally be best friends! Your kiddos are totally the best, but I know you already know that! Thanks for hanging through it all, and I hope you love your photos like I do! Your family is just gorgeous!

Isn't little Emerson just one of the cutest litttle guys you've ever seen? I say this all the time, but truly I have the best job and I get to hang out with cute little bundles of joy like Emerson on a daily basis! Emerson's grandparents are involved in the Morgan County Farmer's Market that I'm a part of as well, and wanted to take these photos as a surprise to his mom. I was just excited to get to squeeze those chubby cheeks and chubby little legs! He is such a happy baby and entirely too cute...both of which I like to think he gets completely from his grandparents!

I was really excited to see Chris and Amy and their two adorable kiddos again the other day! After we had to reschedule because of a rain day, we were all praying for a perfectly nice, dry day to get these photos in. It really couldn't have been a nicer day too! You all may remember just how cute this family is, from the last time they graced our presence. It's really so much fun watching the kids grow up and how they really start getting their own unique personalities. Bella is a gorgeous girl, entirely too easy to get good photos of! And even Will was finally starting to like me taking his pictures this time around, and I think we got some adorable shots of the two of them!

If you follow my blog in the slightest, you've probably noticed by now a little how the blog works...In the title of the blog post, I like to put the names of the people in the photos, followed by the event. Well. Eric and Amber have graced the pages of my blog many times. You may remember their engagement. You should definitely remember their wedding. I can't even begin to tell you how thrilled to pieces I am, to finally be able to list their names, followed by a THIRD name. Followed by FAMILY.

Eric and Amber are two of the most incredible people I have completely had the pleasure of getting to know in my little career of photography. I love that Amber makes me feel like an old college friend with so much to catch up each time I see her! I love how Eric really loves my photo process and gives me tons of input for the perfect pose! I can't begin to explain how two people can truly bless my life more, and now they're bringing a little girl into the world. And don't worry. Little Lillie will be making her Bodell Photography appearance in June...and I couldn't be more excited! I'm probably going to spoil her a little myself!

So Eric and Amber, it's a given that you two will be mom and dad of the year, and for probably several years to come also! That little girl is going to be so blessed, and totally spoiled...especially since her mom works for such a fab store! Although, Amber, promise us--no red shirts and khakis for Lillie! Ok, well maybe, if they're beyond cute and all, and only if you have a big ol hair bow to match! She's going to be adorable, and I can't wait!

This precious little thing is Issac. He's the dear little one of a good friend of mine whom I have known since we were little. I've had several fabulous photo sessions with this family, and I was thrilled to find out that Cassi, along with two of our other friends, was having a new baby! And so I'm so excited to introduce you to little Issac! I'm looking forward to seeing him grow into a big, strong little man like his big brother DJ, who also happens to be one of my favorite little people to photograph! He's such a proud big brother already!

Cassi, your new addition is adorable, but then again, we all expected that! I love these photos and even though I didn't make it to "round 2", I am so glad we did round 1 outside! It was so worth it with these shots! I'm going to have to print a few for my own personal collection! Thanks again for spending time with me and I can't wait to photograph the family again soon! This is Alaina! She is the niece of a dear friend of mine, Nora! I think this is possibly the cutest thing she does for her family when they come out for work and they bring the kids along. Usually, Aunt Nora gets to spend time with the kids, and somewhere in the mix, I get to come along and do some photos. This time, Alaina and her dad came out from Pennsylvania. One of the days they were here, Nora brought her to The Flying Cupcake where I met them with my camera.

Alaina. Possibly the cutest little girl with the most curls on top of her head I have ever seen! She enjoyed a chocolate cupcake, or at least the frosting on top of it! Her faces cracked me up, but I know she loved every bit of that frosting! Nora, thanks once again for introducing me to another of your adorable nieces. She's darling from head to toe and lucky to have YOU in her life too! Aunts are wonderful for spoiling and buying them cupcakes...I have two of them myself that I love to spoil! I love these pictures. I hope we were able to capture a little bit of "the day in the life of Alaina!" She's just too cute for words!

geoffrey & audrey: married.

I am SOOO thrilled to share this lovely wedding with you all! I believe it was a Thursday when I got that email. I opened it up to find that Audrey was in need of a wedding photographer---for her wedding---on SATURDAY! It was my only free Saturday in the month of March, and of course I wrote back right away to tell her how happy I would be to work with her. Once I arrived at her house on the day of the wedding, and she opened the door, I knew we were in for something spectacular!

SHE. WORE. PURPLE. That's right! Need I even say more?! I personally have a little secret infatuation with this vibrant hue. You may remember me blogging once before about my purple patent leather heels. Oh that glorious half inch heel! So when I realized that Audrey was dawning a purple gown, I was in picture taking heaven! The rest of the day would be extraordinary and Audrey was gorgeous in her dress.

Audrey, I know you've waited a few days for these pictures--thanks for being patient with me! Thank you so much for your email and I'm so glad I was able to help out for the day. Your Geoffrey is charming and handsome and I can see how easily you fell for him. He looks at you and his eyes smile. You both were incredibly easy to photograph and I thank you for including me in your day. Your intimate ceremony was really special and I love the photos we were able to capture with the ice cream!

That brings me to another great story! How many people do you know who would actually ask to "cut" in line? There is a most adorable tasty little ice cream shop in Bloomington, and Audrey's maid of honor Holly and I both loved the idea of doing some pictures there. When we arrived at The Chocolate Moose, naturally there was a line. A LONG line. So what do good bridesmaid do? Well, they do what ANY good bridesmaid would do. They ask to cut in line! AND...best part of all...They offer to buy for everyone in line! Holly, you're stellar in my book and kind beyond words! I crack up that the total bill was about $35 for all those people! Only in a small town right! How great are these images though with that ice cream? And how fun for those folks in line? I bet they will forever remember, GIRL, PURPLE DRESS, and that lovely lady who paid for the ice cream that day!

I love these images Audrey and Geoffrey. I hope you continue making each other happy daily! And congratulations on "it's a boy"! So excited for you both!

Laura, I was so happy for you the day I found out you were going to have a little baby, and seeing you with him, is just adorable! He's truly a beautiful little baby and I bet you just love him more and more by the hours. I hope he's a joy to you all and I know he'll be raised with tons and tons of love! Meet Sarah! She's an absolutely delightful high school senior that I had a blast photographing! I just love when I sit down to meet new people, and we all just click, in all the good ways! Sarah is perfectly funny and she kept me laughing the entire time doing these pictures. When I said LAUGH-- she gave me incredible smiles, and when I said SASSY--she totally took it there! I was in photo heaven and we got some perfectly fabulous images from this session! Probably some of my favorites are with the camera, of course!

Sarah, you're a doll. I had entirely too much fun with you girls!! To your friend Adriane, a huge thanks for coming along and snapping pictures with your phone, and for spotting all the best locations. Girls, we should totally do a stake out and go get that sign...you know, the "sandwich" sign...just sayin! HA! Sarah, I wish you all the best with the last few weeks of your senior year! I'm so glad to have met you, and your mom and Rick too!
