jessica: senior @ monrovia high school.

Meet the lovely Jessica representing Monrovia High School! We had the most beautiful evening of warm weather and sunshine last week when we shot Jessica's senior pictures. I thought it was histerical when she was telling me what she brought to wear and showed me this cute little green top. Of course I said, "I just happen to have that exact shade of patent leather pointy toed stiletto (I mean, of course!) shoes...in the back of my car!" All the while as I was expressing that I had these shoes, I was running around to the back of my SUV, crankin the door up to reveal the kelly green magnificent wonders! These are those kind of shoes that the fabulous Oprah would say are her "show shoes", meaning you don't DARE walk in them, they're only for showing. My sister bought them for me to wear for bridal shows, where I begin the day ever determined to make it through at least the first hour of the show, standing to beat all, in my ferocious heels! They are truly 'delicious' as her mom put it, so of course Jessica had to wear them for a few pictures! She was ultra fabulous in my opinion for going the extra mile to adorn my favorite pair of feet candy!

**Jessica, I think you are too adorable and I loved every minute of our time! And of course Liz I just love you too! Thanks for coming along and hanging out and making us laugh...I think our pictures are fantastic and I hope you love them too! I hope you have a rockin last year of school and if you ever get the chance to have brightly colored stilettos, PATENT LEATHER SHINY SHINY stilettos, wear them and think of me! (Because you said you liked black and white photos, I did all b/w here except the last one...it was beautiful lighting and one of my favorites!)

coming soon: jessica.

I PROMISE there are more to come! Here's just a preview!

car car.

We are working on a new little endeavor that will be making it's way to the big screen in the next few months. So you may be seeing a handful of cute little ones running around the pages of the blog in the days to come. Of course, my first love will always remain my weddings, but how can I leave these little guys out? So, soon and very soon I'll be announcing the newest arrival to Bodell Photography. And for now, here's a little guy we photographed last week and I think he's just the most adorable little man ever and he just so happens to be the nephew of one of my bestest friends! When I first got there he had this small red helicoptor that he kept calling his "car car". I thought it was just darling! Later, we switched locations and he brought out a few more of these "car cars". I thought wow, this kid has more cars at almost one than I've ever had! He was too cute!

doug & dodie: married.

I still remember the day that I met Dodie and her mom. They walked up to me at a bridal show and Dodie had the cutest little purse. Of course it said something along the lines of "bride to be" and it was all stylish chocolate brown and light pink. Darling was an understatement. If I were getting married, I would have to have one too. So of course I loved her from the second she and her mom started talking and we set up an appointment to get together. Later that day a neighbor walked through and she too is getting married in September, and she was also with her wonderful mom whom I just love. (Stay tuned for that wedding: Tommy & Emily.) And after a second or two of all this excitement, I realized Dodie was talking with Emily...Her mom was talking to Emily's mom...and then it hit me...they're all friends and in fact Emily had told her to stop by my booth and say hi. It just took me a couple of minutes to figure all of that out! They are both in each others wedding...so you may see more of Dodie in September.

And when I finally met Doug later in the week, I knew this would be a wedding that I would really look forward to. It was just too sweet how Doug would look at her with her big puppy dog brown eyes, as they discussed the details of this wedding day that was sooo far off in the distance. Dodie was just so adorable with her ideas of a perfect wedding and Doug was right there to make it all happen for her, just like she imagined.

So even though this has taken me a couple of days to get your slideshow and pictures up...I may have gone a little overboard considering that I just really REALLY loved your pictures...and even though we had to battle what seemed like 100+ degrees for pictures outside, I think it was all worth it. Dodie you were perfectly exquisite in your dress that I still can't get enough of! Beautiful! And Doug and the guys all worked the suits and your pictures are smokin! Those blow up guitars and the little routine that was performed during the reception still has me laughing! It was histerical! And I'm not kidding...Hands DOWN, those were some of the best speaches I've EVER heard! The top 10 idea was perfect! So I wish you all the best and thank you thank you thank you for a wonderful day and for letting me share in your laughs and more laughs! You guys are truly the best! ***Check out your slideshow at the bottom of the lengthy list of my favorite shots of the day.
