on the first day of christmas...

Ok. So I'm running a couple of days behind, but I'm really like 5 years old when it comes to Christmas! I can't sleep, I shop too much, I give Betty Crocker a run for her money, I put Paula Dean to shame with the amounts of butter I use for cooking, and the number of cream cheese blocks that go into my recipes! It tends to look like the sleigh had an accident in my mom's living room with the excessive amounts of packages that even I can't wait to tear into! The anticipation is ridiculous, but I'm mostly just happy that my entire family pretends that we all love each other if for only a few hours on Christmas. For those couple of hours, my sisters and I all try to top each other with that gift for my mom that will force tears down her face. We scream "it's just what I always wanted" at the top of our lungs...even if we did just open a package that was a box of kleenex wrapped up in all it's glory! We play games that give us pain in our stomach, and stop our breathing. Again, we cry, but this time it's because our dad is making all his answers to the game questions "naughty"! We drink gallons of "THE PUNCH". And by "THE PUNCH", I mean the most splendid, delicious concoction of sugary goodnesses all mixed up and topped with ginger ale. If you've ever been to any of our parties, chances are, YOU've had THE punch. We freak out over our stockings and we thank the Lord that Santa brought presents for our dogs. It's Christmas. After all. And our whole family is together. Even the dogs. It's truly the best time of the year. And so maybe just maybe, we aren't pretending to love each other. Ok ok. We totally do, just don't tell anyone!

Now. Back to my countdown. Who cares if I'm a couple of days late! I'm still in a coma from that punch I was telling you about...sugary GOODNESSES...oooh...I think I'll go down a glass right now!

...On the fist day of Christmas, 2010 gave to all of you...One lucky photographer (and her little dog too!) who loves her clients so much she wanted to share this lovely photo of herself to you all! We all know how I tend to shy away from being IN the photos. That's why I'm THE photographer! I hope you all had the best of the best of the holiday. I for one, am excited for this next year and all the new fantastic couples, families and kids I'll be blessed to photograph. Thanks again for a beautiful, enriched year filled with wonderful moments.
